bio
Lauren became intrigued with writing and movies when she was very young. As a child she watched movies like "Waxwork", "Labyrinth", "Lost Boys" and "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" a million times each - while creating her own characters and costumes for the movies. Instead of hanging out with friends as a kid, Lauren would go to her grandmother's where she'd watch programs like "The Muppet Show" and see movies like "Beetlejuice" in the theatre more than four times.
In high school, she began writing her
first screenplay, "Resinous Bullets", after falling for Quentin
Tarantino.
She met him a few years ago. He thinks she's a sweetheart.
She received a Bachelor of Arts from Westminster College in 2001
studying History, English, Communications and Fine Arts.
In 2003, Lauren received her Masters of Arts from the
University of Missouri - Kansas City. She modeled her studies around the horror genre. Details are available. Lauren taught some classes such as "Silent Horror Classics",
"They're Us: The Living Dead in Film" and "Reflections of Society in the Buffyverse" after graduation. She even
presented at the Slayage Conference (An Academic Conference on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.) She also taught "Reflections of Society in the Horror Genre" and "Classic Horror in a Modern World."
Utilizing the wealth of WWII knowledge she has, she finished "Stricken" in 2008 & "Hinder" in 2009 - her first full length original novels. These and other books are available at Lulu.com and in stores!
Lauren enjoys dancing ballet - and if she's been consistent in her training - she isn't that bad! She likes to make costumes, still - they just hang in a closet and collect dust - but hey, they look cool. She's played guitar for 20 years now, and once played with Green Day.
Lauren enjoys tea at night with vanilla soy milk. She likes to drink lots of water. Lauren is extremely clumsy - and has a tendency to trip on smooth solid surfaces. Lauren also has a baking business - L's Treats - which receives about one order per ever two years.
